Yesterday I created my first 3D object, a very basic drinks coaster using Tinkercad. Today I was able to print and test it. Tinkercad is able to export the generated object in to an STL file, while supporting a couple of other formats as well.
My printer software of choice is Simplify3D, which opened the file without fuss. I decided to use our Flash Forge Creator Pro to print the object, and went with the basic medium settings offered by Simplify3D using Green ABS filament.
I fired up the machine and sent the file to print. Around 40 minutes later I had successfully created and printed my first 3D object!
I am very pleased with the results, in particular the text printed fairly cleanly! Now on to my next project to see if I can improve on the design, or may be I will just make something completely different.
