Brother HL-3040CN - Reset Toner Cartridge

The Brother HL-3040CN has a process to manually override the "Toner Empty" message, and reset the toner cartridges.

1. Ensure the printer is switched on.
2. Open the printer lid to reveal the toner cartridges.
3. Press the "secure" and "cancel" buttons together.
4. The LCD should display a new menu.
5. Use the + and - keys to select the cartridge you wish to reset, K = Black, C = Cyan, M = Magenta, Y = Yellow.
6. S = Standard Capacity Cartridge, H = High Capacity Cartridge.
7. Press the "OK" button.
8. Close the printer lid.

Brother HL-3040CN - Reset Drum

After installing a new drum unit, the printer needs to be reset.

1. Ensure the printer is switched on.
2. Press "+" or "-" to choose "Machine Info.".
3. Press "OK".
4. Press "+" or "-" to choose "Reset Parts Life".
5. Press "OK".
6. Press "+" to choose "Drum Unit".
7. Press "OK".
8. Press "+" or "-" to choose the colour that you replaced.
9. Press "OK" twice.
